Topic: The Pitfalls of Being a People Pleaser in the Entertainment Industry
Guest Speaker: Jen Bosworth-Ramirez, BFA, LPC
Originally from Chicago, Jen Bosworth-Ramirez is a Latina actor/writer/teacher now living in Los Angeles. This is Jen’s second tour of duty in LA. After graduating with a BFA in Acting from The Theatre School at DePaul University, Jen spent her 20s working for Nicolas Cage’s production company, Saturn Films, while also getting her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology. After working for years counseling gang members upon their release from federal prison, Jen is now focusing on her art and teaching full time while living in stunning Pasadena with her skateboarding lawyer husband and their weird French Bulldog, Doris.

Guest Speaker: Daniel Diaz, Ph.d., J.D. gives an anthropological perspective to schools as institutions and explains how this perspective can help navigate and transform schools.
Daniel Diaz is an adjunct professor at the University of Redlands, as well as the host of the “D Report” on KUCR 88.3 FM. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Riverside in Anthropology. His work addresses Urban Anthropology, Education, Critical Race Theory and the Law. His current focus outlines the infrastructure of education systems and content analysis in order to support implementation of creative projects of curriculum design in higher education. Daniel also holds a J.D. from the People’s College of Law.
